Paper Fabric Story is a design studio working across archive-led surface design, interiors and collection development.
Led by designer Cheryl O’Meara, the studio draws on a rare private archive of historic textiles and wallpapers to create work rooted in authenticity, craft and narrative.
From bespoke wallpapers and fabrics to interior environments and retail collections, each project begins with historical reference and evolves into contemporary design shaped by colour, material and story.
The result is work that feels both timeless and distinctive.
my story

I have always been drawn to the quiet beauty of pattern, surface and material - the way colour, texture and ornament can hold memory, meaning and a sense of place.
My career began as a textile and print designer working with global fashion and interiors brands, developing collections that translate historical reference into contemporary design.
Over time this practice expanded beyond surface pattern into a broader exploration of how pattern, material and colour shape environments and objects.
Today my studio works across interior spaces, bespoke surface design and collection development, using historical reference not as something to replicate but as a rich starting point for new ideas.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that design becomes meaningful when it connects people to place, material and story.
Historical objects carry traces of craft and human experience that cannot be replicated by trend-driven design alone.
